Scandal
looms over Annual Super Bowl Chili Cook-Off
Accusations fly like
jalapeņos as chili pots heat up for the Vineyard's Annual Super
Bowl Chili Cook-Off. With the winner expected to be announced at
the half-time at the Super Bowl in the main auditorium of the
church, both competitors and curious onlookers are amazed at the
unabashed campaigning from the winners and also-rans of earlier
contests. At stake are the prestigious "bragging rights" that go
with the accolades heaped like cheese and onions on the winner's
chili plate.
At the alleged root
of the controversy are accusations being made that the "Fix is
on!" To support these allegations, George Phifer offers his
guaranteed-prize-winning chili for the very first time. These
allegations are also supported by rumors of a new and novel
judging format that is being introduced to ensure a "fair" and
"equitable" result. Rumors of bribery abound as boasts have been
overheard relating to desserts, chips and dips, and assorted
snacks that are being brought in to bolster the bevy of bountiful
beverages brewed to balance the boisterous bowls.
If you plan to watch
the game (either the football or the chili-judging), you should
plan to get to the Vineyard prior kick-off on February 3rd. Also,
if you are not interested in watching the Cowboys win their 6th
Super Bowl ring, bring your favorite games and enjoy the
fellowship, fun and food!

RSS Feed
added for our sermons
At the Vineyard
Christian Fellowship of Spring, we are now providing our sermons
through an RSS feed so that you may review our latest sermon
titles and listen to them at your pleasure. This means that you
can add us to your "newsreader" web page or application. This way,
you can see whenever a new message has been published without
having to visit our site, and you will only be downloading what
you want to hear - not everything that we publish (though you may
want to consider doing this anyway).
